Аn associate professor at the Department of History, Lund University, Sweden and a visiting professor at the University of Vienna, Austria. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Canada (2009), MAs from San Diego State University, US (2003) and Uppsala, Sweden (1998). His research interests include nationalism, identity, and inter-ethnic relations in the former Kresy Wschodnie. His articles have appeared in Ab Imperio, Nationalities Papers, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Canadian Slavonic Papers and The Carl Beck Papers. His book The Rise and Fall of Belarusian Nationalism, 1906-1931 appeared in December with the University of Pittsburgh Press.
