Irina Alkhovka is a social scientist, an expert in women’s rights protection, gender equality promotion, domestic violence and human trafficking prevention, non-governmental organizations development. She has been managing the international society The Gender Perspectives since 2010. She is a member of the National Committee on the gender policy of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus.

She has been a member of the council of the international association on human trafficking prevention La Strada (the Netherlands) since 2011. From 1996 to 2009 she was the head of the public organization called Belarusian Young Women's Christian Association.

Ms. Alkhovka is engaged into domestic violence prevention activities and promotion of gender equality. She is the author of more than 20 articles on domestic violence issues, gender equality, human trafficking. Currently she is the national expert of the UNO Fund in Belarusian demographics and is working out an educational course for specialists engaged in domestic violence prevention.
