Viktoria Shmidt took a PhD in Social Policy, and is a candidate of Psychological Sciences, a senior associate of Institute for Research in Inclusive Education at Masaryk University (Brno, the Czech Republic). She is engaged in gypsy segregation problem research in the Czech Republic as well as the policy of parenthood and childhood at the post-Soviet space. Cinematherapy is regularly applied in her research, teaching and consultory practice as a strategy of emancipation from the environment pressure and its dictates. She is the editor-in-chief of the multi-authored monograph Family and Childhood Policies In Post-Socialism (Moscow, Higher School of Economics, 2014).
